It was about as pretty as a day as you could ask for. Blue skies mixed with lazy fluffy clouds, the soft kiss of sunlight on skin, and a sweet easy wind blowing though. The wind held with it the scent of herbs and flowers from a communal garden not far away. Much of the garden was open for any but there were a few rows at the end marked ‘Kit’ and those were expected to be left open for the old wolf. Most left the spots open out of kindness but there was also some respect given in letting her take those spots as her own.. There was a time where Kit served as the most recent Beta of the pack. In the turmoil times after the max exodus from the Black Woods Kit had backed up Zigan in his decision to not return to the woods. On one hand, it was a shame leaving something that was so close to nature behind. They were wolves after all and needed to be in touch with their roots. On the other paw, those woods were almost suffocating. And now that the land was war torn, there was no doubt Ox would be all over. To stay in the city was a change they needed. The pack was closer to other immortals this way and they were hiding in plain sight. Now, Kit was more of a medicine woman. Using the knowledge of her time living at the foot of the mountain to raise a garden that could suit any needs. From tea to medicine, her section of the garden had it all. It wasn’t just knowledge of plants that she had to share with the pack though. She was one that May’s children could turn to to learn of their powers, of the elements.

That was what brought Kit outside today. She had spent months working on the track and field section of the school. It was wildly overgrown and taken back by nature after being abandoned for years. It felt a little of to fight against nature to take it back so rather than rip and tear and the landscape Kit had worked with what was already there. Most of the plants were brought down to a low ankle height anywhere that called for easy walking. The old rubbery truf of the track was still there under the wild growth and so Kit had uncovered most of it. It made for comfortable walking on her lame right leg. It also meant those who wanted could go for a run with little impact on them to help build up speed and stamina. The empty center of the track was covered with soft sand. It was fun to dig in should the mood strike you just right. It also was a great place to spar and not worry about landing on too hard earth if you were thrown to the ground a little overzealously by a sparring partner. It also made for a safe spot to use most any and all powers. No electricity, fire, or sudden flood would easily spread back to the school with a bed of sand and a blockade of turf in the way.

Besides all that, there was a small altar at the northernmost part of the track. It was nothing like the lovely monolith Kit had built in the mountains to call to the other spirits of nature. It was more or less a modest acknowledgement of the elements and a thank you for them watching over the pack. Kit wasn’t about to go into details about the elemental spirits with May and Zigan’s pups. It was the religion of her old pack, her past life and a part of her. The pups could ask about it if they so choose but to seek out a spirit was a life changing thing. It would put your mind in constant contact with another. Although through Kuzan she learned a spirit could be there only when asked by their guided user… Even so, to have a mental link with another could be quite a shock. And on top of that, to join with a spirit was to gain a huge boost to one’s power. That was something she doubted the kids were ready for just yet. In time, perhaps.

Walking with a cane made of beautiful twisting wood she followed the path to the altar to lower her head a moment. The alter consisted of, going clockwise starting at ‘12’ a fire pit for Lady fire, a cairn of stones for Brother Earth, a metal spike to act as a lighting rod for Lady Lightning, a re-planted branch of the old oak for Mana, a small pool of water for Torrent, a bright pinwheel for Sister Wind, a deep singing bowl for Brother Thunder, and a growth of poison mushrooms for Baron Poison. In the center of it all was sundial, representing the eternal dance of sun and shadow, Light and Dark. It served well enough as a reminder of her family and silently she asked for today to be a pleasant day with the new generation coming into their elements. It was a power that could vary wildly and do much good or much bad if left without guidance. Kit hoped she could guide the kids well in their use of their powers and teach them all the right ways to use them. She had done so with Justin and he helped her do the same with Kuzan. She was excited to see what the new generation of the pack could bring.

Going over to the sandlot she made her way to the middle. In her early days after the Ox attack the cane she had took some getting used to. Now it was an extension of her body and more than that it served as a holding palace her for bladed fans, now in their dice from in a dome at the top of the cane. Whenever unstable ground like the sand came abbott she could use a little spike of wind at the end of the cane to accommodate any unsteadiness. In the center of the ring she called the wind to dance around her picking up her scent as well as the scent of the garden. Specifically the plants grown there to represent each of the children. Magnolias, basil, roses, for every pup there was a plant. The wind tossed her gray hair this way and that and ruffled her clothes. In a moment the wind left her and went to the school propper. It would dance this way and that though the halls carrying with it the smell of the plants and the teacher. To howl out the names of any would be too risky hiding under the nose of their foe. So, using their own noses she would call for the pack by scent. It was time for these youngsters to train.

Class is In session (Pups) Empty Re: Class is In session (Pups)

Post by CedarWed 15 Feb 2023 - 15:29

Cedar wasn't in St.Judes when he sensed Kit calling him home.
No, He was sitting beside a river that ran between The Strip and All Saints Cathedral. It was not unusual for the young male to be found sitting beside a body of water. He would often slip away from his mass of siblings to search for water. And today was no different. He sat with his shoes beside him, with his bare feet in the cold water. His eyes were closed, and his hands stretched out beside him, pressing against the river bank with palms facing up. Above his palms were floating balls of water.

Cedar didn't discuss his powers very often, though the pack knew him to be a water elemental. He'd always loved the water, just like his father, but his love of it had developed into much more. It was an obsession. The older Cedar got, the more power he grew until he could constantly hear the water. No matter where he went- no matter what he did, he could hear it calling for him.

He longed for the sea. But his father wouldn't allow him to go in search of it. Saint's was a safe haven for them, and Zigan forbid the pack from leaving without permission. And permission was denied to the pups. No matter Cedar's desire.

His scent clouded around him, mixed with Kit's and Cedar opened his eyes. The water splashed into his palms as he let his control drop.
He stood with a sigh and slipped his shoes in, wiggling damp toes into the material as he took off on a jog back through Saint's city.

Saint's city was as safe a place as they could find, but they still had to be alert. Ox still tried to stick its claws in whenever it could. Meaning that Cedar took the long route back to Saint Jude's. He didn't want to get caught out in the open, afraid that Zigan would stop him from leaving the school grounds if anything ever happened.

He scaled the fence leading to the old track grounds, landing softly on the overgrown verge as he jogged the rest of the way. He had been dreading the start of their training sessions, but he was expecting them. He just hoped he could keep the strength of his power under control. He'd never admitted just how much control he had over water because that would mean admitting how much control it had over him.

"Hey!" he shouted to the older woman as he jogged the remaining distance to her. "I can't be the first one here, huh?" he laughed with a dramatic roll of his eyes. Of course, he was.
"You ready for this?" he smiled with a small laugh, concealing his anxieties as he stopped beside the woman. "Thirteen of us unleashing God knows what."

Prim stormed through the halls of the school they called home, anger written all over her face. All she wanted was to go hunting in the wilderness like a real wolf, but Zigan had again refused her request. Instead, he insisted she attends this stupid class to learn how to use her powers. But as far as Prim was concerned, she already knew everything she needed to know. Like her grandfather Blaze, she had control of fire, a fact she was proud of, given his legacy. But how could she live up to that legacy if she was never allowed to try?

She made her way towards Kit, having been given no other option by her father. It wasn't that she disliked Kit, but what more was there to her abilities? She concentrated, her paws would feel hot, and then there should be fire. Could she do it reliably? No, in fact, she had never actually created fire, not yet, but she was getting the hang of it, and she didn't need fire to hunt, which is all she was interested in right now. Stopping by her room, she changed into loose clothing that she didn't care if they got charred and tied her hair up in a messy bun. She walked down the corridor where her siblings all had rooms. " Come on, underdogs, move before I make you. " Prim threatened any of her siblings within earshot. She often referred to the much larger littler that came after her and Cedar as the underdogs because they had her to contend with.

She appeared outside, and of course, Cedar was there already. " Hey, " Prim nodded at Kit and then looked her brother up and down. " Get started without me? " she asked as she noticed his shoes were soaking wet. " Why are you always damp? " she asked him, wondering how, of all of her siblings, he was her litter mate. " Want me to dry those for you? " she asked, the threat implied, as heat emanated from her hands. " It counts as practice, right? " Prim asked and then smirked as she closed her hands before she caused any flames to appear. It was much easier for Prim to generate the heat, but it was much harder to generate the flames, so she wasn't too concerned about hurting her brother. She had teeth and claws if she wanted to do that.

The morning routine for Basil was waking up before the sun was awake and testing out his skills before he had to in front of everyone else. He started with his enhanced tracking senses. Small hooves were planted in a odd pattern but that didn't stop him from following them. When the sun started to peek through the trees he gave up on his hunt and decided to run over to where he remembered where the classes were being held.

Halfway through his journey he found the woman that would be teaching him. So before he was seen he concentrated to the point to where he seemed to almost have a blood vessel pop but his body slowly went clear. Then with a soft exhale he followed Orchid.

Since Basil was already out on the training grounds sitting right underneath the teacher. Once everyone arrived he lets out a loud exhale and his body shimmers into existence . It looked like it took a toll on him due to the deep breaths he's taking before speaking. "It..took you all long enough." He didn't move from sitting in front of the teacher because he had protection from anyone who would try to harm him.. mainly the fire lady that is trying to burn another sibling.

"Hey Orchid, where did you get this walking stick? It looks really old but well made." Basil inspects the staff by brushing his hands on it and leaning in closer with his eyes.

Magnolia sat in her room surrounded by different comforts for her. At her desk was a miss match of all sort of leaves, flower petals, seeds, stems, and roots. Around the deks were pillows made from furs and stuffed with down or cotton fluff. As much as Magnolia disliked direct contact with most others that weren't her parents, she loved to snuggle into soft things. Most of her cloths were soft stretchy sweaters or something with a furry collar. The warmth and softness of a pillow, a blanket or even a stuffed animal kept her calm. Her stuffed animals were pretty prized and she did her best to keep them in little hidden corners of her room for fear another sibling may try to take them. She mostly gave things up without a fight though when it came to blows. Well, everything except the things on her desk.

Looking at the mess of plant bits it would take some time to see the organized chaos Maggie had the odds and ends gathered in. She took great care to organize her craft tools and wouldn’t let anyone near them without a scuffle. Not that she had the chance of winning most scuffles but she could put on a pretty brave face if anyone got too close to her pallet. At the moment she worked on a new piece, this one made with different pollens. It wasn't really much to look at but if you closed your eyes and let your sense of smell take over the scents mixed together in a unique way. If you didn’t focus then it was generally floral but if you let your nose wander you could track river-like paths of individual flowers, herbs and a little bit of sap. She was enjoying this particular work when a new smell came to her. The flower she was named after. Was her mother nearby or.. Oh wait, it was mixed with other smells and under all that was wolf smell.

“Humm?” Magnolia questions as she tiled her head taking it all in. Oh, it was Kit’s scent and those of fresh living plants. It was a call but for what? Lost in thought Magnolia jumped with a small yip as Prim’s voice called out. " Come on, underdogs, move before I make you. " Maggie sighed. Her sister was something else. So loud and bossy, not that she could really contest her. What was she going on about what was the cal… oh!! Oh it was practice day. That’s right! Putting her new work aside she got up and shook off any extra pollen that had stuck to her. Too much and she’d have everyone on the training field sneezing.

Magnolia gave it a moment or two to let Prim get a head start before she headed to the field. Aside form Prim Cedar and Basil were also there. Prim was going on about drying Cedar off and Basil was asking Kit about the walking stick she had. She had to admit, she was curious about it as well. It was a pretty thing, a braid of light and dark wood that seemed like it came right off a tree in a handy shape to suit her needs. Eyes going off of the cane she looked at her teacher and gave a polite if flustered nod. She scolded herself in the back of her mind thinking she should have acknowledged her before just standing there. Wishing there was a corner to hide in she fidgeted a little as she waited for instructions on this class.

Rowen  laid there on his bed, the young male's mesh of blue-green eye starring up towards the ceiling of the room he was practically confined to, the raven haired male was still wearing his clothes from yesterday which consisted of; a rather loose fitting black t-shirt, a white an blue jacket with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows along with a pair of matching sweatpants and white sock. A yawn stifled from his lips before a hand would be raised to rub the sleep from his eyes --- Ideally he had wanted to have remained asleep but with everyone's emotions stirring him awake at the crack of dawn, he had been unable to get back to sleep.

He then glanced towards his door at the scent of Kit that was soon followed by hearing Prim calling them out and threatening them in her own way as if she was in charge of the, Rowen letting out a groan as he moved, honestly not understanding why he himself needed to train --- Unlike his siblings who had elemental powers, he was gifted one that matched their mother of Empathy which had nothing to do with the elements. He was glad he didn't have an aggressive power like the others but he often felt like his own was a dangerous one to both him and others.

The young male decided to change out of yesterday's clothes, stripping himself naked before re-dressing himself into a pair of black joggers, a white and blue sleeveless hooded vest with a diagonal half white and half black tank top. He also changed his socks to some ankle ones and slipped on a pair of what seemed more like volleyball sneakers before he would leave his room.

Rowen eventually entered the training area, noticing that Prim and Cedar were doing their typical and usual interection, Basil who seemed to be pestering the teacher and finally he glanced towards Magnolia a frown coming across his face as he could feel her need to go into a corner to hide. It wasn't the fact he could feel his other siblings but since he was now standing near Magnolia --- It was the strongest one he could feel currently, the raven haired male then glanced his attention back over to Kit but refused to actually speak up to offer any sort of greeting to neither his siblings nor their teacher.

Class is In session (Pups) Empty Re: Class is In session (Pups)

Post by BladewolfFri 17 Feb 2023 - 3:21

The burst of energy from the interior of the field woke him from the nice dream of, well, he was a teenager...
"Huh, what? The hell?" He muttered for a moment before getting his wits back about him. Oh, today was the first day the group of them were going to start training with Aunt Kit! Rolling over, his hands and feet came in contact with the ground as he dropped from where he had been napping near the edge of the school grounds. After staying frozen for a moment, everything came back to him,
"Oh yeah!" He exclaimed, blasting himself into the air, his powers had always been a touch, explosive one might say. It was a bit sporadic, but somehow during this brief time, he had time to launch himself towards where the scents of his siblings and Aunt Kit were coming from. Alder hit the ground where he rolled and came to his feet standing tall. To one side was Magnolia, and to the other was Prim. Cedar. and Aunt Kit.
Looking around with a grin, his ears had caught the tail end of what Prim had said about 'Move before I make you.'.
"I would like to see you try big sis." He said with a laugh.
His next look was to greet Magnolia, who he had always felt closest with. "Hey! You decided to step away from your books and plants. Ready to conquer another day?"

Class is In session (Pups) Empty Re: Class is In session (Pups)

Post by Ewan And Thorn NekishuFri 17 Feb 2023 - 15:32

Ewan and Thorn were never far from each other, in fact, the twins were inseparable. They were part of a larger litter but were true twins, their bodies having grown together from conception. Their bond was undeniable. If one jumped, the other soon followed. And today was no different.
They were both stretched across the living room floor, their eyes glued to the TV as they watched some dramatic telenovela.

Thorn twisted a bent coin through his fingers, his eyes scanning the subtitles with interest as he watched a woman sob over the body of her fourth husband. While Ewan mocked the show, his lips mimicking the Spanish words that fell from the screaming woman's mouth as he playfully re-enacted the show.

The brothers were lighthearted by nature and often liked to surround themselves with positive energy. They were the life and soul of the party and were always on the lookout for a good time.

But it was morning, and neither of them was morning people. The scent of Kit filled the room with an invitation, and both boys climbed onto their feet, Thorn stretching his arms above his head in a yawn while Ewan pretended to elbow him.
"Let's go," Ewan groaned, rolling his eyes.

It was their first lesson with Kit, well at least it was their first group lesson. Neither brother had good control over their powers. They seldom used them and didn't really pay much interest in them. It was a bone of contention between them and their father. Zigan wanted them to achieve all they could, he pushed all of them to do their bests. But the boys just wanted to have fun, all this power stuff seemed like too much hard work.

They both pulled their shoes on and made their way through their home until they came out onto the old running track.
Kit had been working on it for some time now, and it was starting to look much better. Even that had to admit that.

They saw the group gathering ahead and started a light run. They were the last to arrive by the looks of it, and Thorn nudged Ewan with a low "Uh-oh" they'd be in trouble again.
"Hey!" Thorn piped up quickly. "Here, and ready for action"

Cedar was the first to join her on the field. That wasn’t too surprising, he seems to be one of the more responsible of the pups and his calm and cool nature helps keep the hot headed Prim in balance. “Welcome Cedar.” Kit said with a smile and nod. She wanted to do her best to make each pup here feel addressed and noticed. It would be a large group activity, as were most things with the siblings, but that didn’t mean each couldn't get individual attention. It was important to help build up each one’s individuality and growth. Like all things, like her siblings and the natural world, being part of a pack or litter and being your own wolf must be kept in a sort of balance. She gave a little genuine laugh at his comment. “I’d be lying if I wasn’t at least a tiny bit nervous. Even I can be anxious about something so familiar. But I have faith that should some element or another go a little out of control we can work together to reign it in.” Looking at Cedar Kit tilted her head for a second as she noticed something. He had the smell of fresh water strong on him and were his shoes wet?

Prim was the next to show up and Kit gave her a smile and nod as well. “Hello Prim!” She confirmed her suspicions, Cedar’s shoes were damp. At Prim’s offer Kit thought of something she had ready for the eldest female of the litter. What could the young wolf do if she had access to a spark at any given time? Looking at the siblings she chalked. “Interesting to be damp when the nearest body of water is… how far away again?” Her voice was stern at first but that faded quickly as she gave a quick wink. “Those with elemental powers are always drawn to them and nothing can divide a user from the source.” Reaching into her pocket she handed a fine pair of gloves to Prim. “For those whose elements have to be made, it can help to have a tool while you are getting the hang of it. These gloves have some flint in the fingers, with a snap you’ll have a spark. Like any beginning tool, once you get the hang of it you won’t need it for long and there is no shame in using it.”

Basil was the next to join in, shimmering into visibility. He seems to be able to hold the invisible form for loner recently, good he was improving. “Welcome Baz, do remember when you can’t be seen you can still be scented out by keen noses. Staying downwind is a key tool in hunting and in ambushing. And thank you lad, this came from a dear friend of mine.” Pausing she looked at her staff, one of the limbs were a rich dark oak and the other was a lovely white ash. “It is indeed old and manipulated to have grown like this since the branches were just saplings. Funny, the gifter could have rushed it but by letting the plants grow at a natural and slow pace it has more perfection than you would think. Sort of like how our own powers grow.”

The quiet Magnolia was next, hanging back and showing more interest in her cane than her siblings or Kit herself. “Hello Magnolia, thank you for making it out. You may take a seat if it makes it eiser. In times of stress remember to take a deep breath and imagine yourself as another part of nature. Let your roots connect you to the earth and those around you. Let your stress go down your body though the roots as you take in some calm with each breath. If you wish, you may join me in meditation later.” Meditation was something Kit new Blaze held dear. She imagined the smile he would give his grandchild here and now knowing she would need the same mechanism to center herself and grow strong.

Rowen joined in next, an empath like his mother. Surly with siblings with such strong emotions coming from all directions he had a lot to deal with. Thinning back on individuality Kit gave a moment of thought before giving the young male some words of welcome. “Hello Rowen, where your sister needs to focus on her roots, you must remember the drum of your heart.” She smiled a moment thinking of Justin and how he tended to be whenever he was with an empath. He liked to offer a bit of a steady rhythm to give them something to focus on and in turn she wanted to pass that advice on. “A slow and steady rhythm can go a long way in centering yourself. You may benefit from meditation as well.”

Alder joined in next and as he came onto the field Kit felt the excited coincidence of Dark brush against hers for a moment. Dark was like a kid in a candy store whenever a user of his element appeared and he was extra happy to have a user in the pack of his sister. Adler was an outgoing sibling checking on the little Magnolia to make sure she was doing well. “Hello Adler, thank you for bringing such eager energy today! It’s good to encourage your siblings as well as yourself in times of uncertainty.”

The twins, Ewan and Thorn joined in next. With such a close bond there was no surprise seeing them join in together. Again her mind went to Dark and echos of a past life. The chaos and adventures twins got into together were unlike anything. “Better late than never boys! I’d like to see the two of you work together during this, let’s see how you can cover each other's weaknesses and bounce off of each other's strengths.”

With greetings done Kit took a few steps back to address the group as a whole. “I’ll begin now and if the others come late that is fine.” She smiled as she looked at the group thinking of just how.. right this all felt. With her birth pack long gone, lesions like this didn’t have much of a chance of happening in her life. Yet here she was teaching the future of the pack about elements and other powers besides. It gave her a sense of purpose and a comforting inner warmth that escaped words at the moment. Where to begin with a group this diverse? The basics. “Powers, where do they come from? Why do we deserve them and why doesn’t every member of our kind have them? Many think it is the will of Nature. Nature deams wolves apex predators and keystone species. As Lycans we are even moreso. We shape the world around us in ways humans can’t imagine and as such may sometimes have the gift of nature to do so. Powers be they elemental or something else entirely often reflect the emotions of their user. As a Wind Wolf…. I’m an old windbag who can drone on and on!” Kit laughed at her own joke a moment before continuing. “I promise to not drone on too much today! That can be saved if I ever need to lecture any of you. Trust me, you don’t want that.”

“Besides being long winded, I’m a wolf of freedom. Running in wide open spaces or flying through the endless sky. Those were and are some of the most valuable things to me. Those who are ambitions with burning hearts tend to be one with fire, the calm on the surface but deep underneath with water, the thoughtful with an appreciation for life, light or dark, the peaceful with plants, the caring empaths, the sharp minded energy manipulation and form changing. Just as powers tend to reflect personality, emotion can determine the strength of power. Too much anger, stress, and pain can not only trigger a transformation into a wild state but powers running wild as well. It’s important to try and gain control of your powers and have a deep understanding of them so they never harm those we care about.” For a moment Kit closed her eyes in reflection.

“Every power has its strengths and its weaknesses. The elements play and dance together in a beautiful balance. No one is greater than the other and even though we have direct opposites we shine with our own strength.” Kit pauses thinking of the word choice ‘we’ there. It was too soon to go in depth about the subject of her and the other spirits and she was dragging on anyway. Time to show a little skill then start with step one. “For individual strengths, they may happen in a way only limited by your creativity. Such as..” Kit turned away from the students a moment before calling forth her wind wings. Even in human form they attached to the shoulder blades without much of a thought. The solid wind was just another limb for her.

“I made these in my youth to keep up with an old mate and my son. They have truly become a part of me. At first they took much concentration, energy and I could only fly for a half hour or so. With work they come as easy as extending my arm and can stay all day.” Turing back around she smiled. “But we can’t get there without starting! I”ve gon on long enough about the ideas let’s put some of this into practice. When you are ready, close your eyes. Imagine your soul, the innermost part of you in the center of your chest. It can be whatever color, shape, and size that feels right to you. Take a deep breath and imagine your soul pulse with life and energy.” She paused, taking a deep breath herself aware of the energy path that ran through her body.

“Now imagine all of your energy in that soul, swirling and dancing. Lift whatever arm feels right and hold your hand, palm facing the sky. Let the energy flow from your soul, to your shoulder, down your arm and to your hand. Gather your energy, a small orb above your hand. Take it easy and just focus on how this makes you feel. When you are ready, open your eyes.” The possibilities were interesting here. What would her students conjure? Would it be physical energy, their element, the manifestation of their power in the case of the non elementals? She was watching like a hawk at the ready incase any energy sparked up something dangerous.

Class is In session (Pups) Empty Re: Class is In session (Pups)

They stood alone with one another for a few minutes, and Cedar listened. He liked Kit, she was a calming force in the pack, and he appreciated her honesty, especially when she admitted feeling nervous about their first lesson. "I'm sure you'll be fine," he smiled, hoping he wouldn't be the one to release too much of his power into the training field. No one knew how much power Cedar had over water, and he wanted it that way. He didn't like being the centre of attention- that was Prim and Alder's thing. No, Cedar preferred to be overlooked.

"Here we go," he sighed with a hint of a smile on his lips. He could hear his siblings approaching, and soon he turned his pale eyes to his sister, meeting her firey ones as she greeted them. "Hey," he smiled, bracing himself for whatever abrasive thing she would say next.
He loved Prim. They were closer with each other than the rest of their siblings being the older two, but hell, she annoyed him sometimes. Her arrogance had a way of getting under his skin, and she loved it. It was hard to get a rise out of Cedar, but Prim liked to try.
"Why do you always smell like a barbeque?" he quipped back, hiding his irritation. Of course, she would point it out, now Kit would know he'd left the compound. Sighing he shook his head, looking at the older woman expecting some harsh words. Her tone was harsh and he readied himself for a lecture, but she winked at him, letting him off the hook.

Prim didn't let it drop so quickly and teased him about drying them which made him roll his eyes in exasperation. "Try it squirt," he smiled, eying his sister with a smirk. He'd be quick to douse her with freezing cold water if she did.

Footsteps moved closer and distracted Cedar. The young man watched as Basil flickered into sight "Hey," he nodded, his eyes moving further along the track as Magnolia, Rowan, Alder and the twins came filing across. "Hey guys," it seemed they were the only ones heeding the call, and he sighed knowing Zigan would have something to say about it before he looked back to Kit awaiting the start of their lesson.

He settled for folding his hands loose around his stomach, his eyes returning to Kit as she spoke to them each in turn. It took a while to get through them all, but soon the lesson was starting.
She wanted them to demonstrate their powers straight away, and he raised an eyebrow, glancing back to look at Ewan, suddenly glad their brother was there and could syphon power if anyone got out of control.

He rolled his shoulders, fighting off a flutter of nerves as he moved to distance himself from his siblings. He'd done this a thousand times before when alone, but he'd never done it around do many people, he was worried about the distractions putting him off.
He took a deep breath and closed his eyes, focusing on Kit's voice as she instructed them on what to do.
He stretched his fingers into the air, took a long breath and sent the energy to his hands.
He opened his eye, peeking to see two orbs floating above each palm, and he exhaled the anxiety from him, glad that he'd been able to keep control.

"Why do you always smell like a barbeque?"

Prim glared at her brother as their quips went back and forth. Being the two eldest, they often fought the most with each other, and it didn't help that they were polar opposites. She was independent, assertive and dominant. She was as fiery as her abilities, but her brother was everything she was not. Quiet, calm and patient. He was the embodiment of water and was the only one who could cool her off, literally and figuratively. They fought with each other every day, but both of them knew that they would kill for each other if they didn't kill each other first.

" Better a BBQ than a wet dog, small fry ", Prim smirked, as she secretly enjoyed the banter with her brother, but as Kit greeted her, she ended their spat. " Hey, " Prim replied with a nod trying to act older than she was. She hated being lumped in with the younger pups and wanted to be treated like an adult, like Justin. However, her focus shifted to her brother as Kit pointed out that the nearest body of water was miles away. Prim's eyes darted to her brother as she prepared to come up with some story to get him out of trouble. If their mother knew how far they were venturing from the school, she would put leashes on all of them, and Prim didn't want to be housebound for the foreseeable future. Thankfully Kit gave a wink, letting them know their secret was safe with them. Prim knew there was a reason she liked her.

Kit began speaking and talked about Cedar being drawn to water because of his abilities. Prim didn't quite understand that draw, but when she thought about it, she always liked the heat. Hot sunny days, radiators, the stove in the kitchen. They weren't exactly like fire, but they gave the same effect. As Prim thought about it, Kit produced a pair of gloves and presented them to her. She looked at the gloves and took them, a little confused about how they would help, but it became clear as Kit explained what they were made of. " Flint? " Prim repeated, looking a little sceptical as she slipped the gloves over her hands. The fabric felt strange but not uncomfortable as Prim snapped her fingers and noticed a spark from the friction. Her eyes grew wide as she beamed, " Cool... " she exclaimed as she stood there snapping her fingers repeatedly, creating sparks.

Prim was utterly transfixed with her new gift as she was clearly distracted while Kit spoke. Prim never enjoyed the lectures that the adults seemed to give. They all talked so much all the time, and Prim didn't have the patience or the attention span for it. She always wanted to jump in head first, no matter how often her Dad told her to think first. But Kit caught her attention again when she said they would practice. ' Finally ', she thought, biting her lip so she wouldn't say it out loud. Her Dad was also trying to teach her to think before she spoke, and although she was trying, she wasn't as successful as he would have liked her to be. However, when Kit told them to close their eyes and start imagining their souls, this wasn't exactly the practice she had in mind, and what did a soul look like anyway?

Prim felt stupid and vulnerable standing there with her eyes closed, but she tried to follow anyway. She wanted to master her ability and if this was what she had to do, but she couldn't help but pick up on Cedar's anxiety as he folded his hands across his stomach. She opened one eye and looked him up and down and wanted to say something but thought she would distract him. Instead, she secretly watched as two pools of water formed in his hands and created orbs. She smiled, secretly proud, as she cast her eye over her siblings, her gaze lingering longer on Rowen, the runt and empath of the group. He was the most like their mother's ability-wise, and Prim wondered why he was included. He was quickly overwhelmed, and Ewan had stepped in more than once to help him. Still, he seemed ok, and so Prim began focussing on herself.

She closed both her eyes and tried to imagine her soul, but she couldn't really imagine that; when she tried, she just saw a swirling mass of orange flames, like a violent ocean of fire that was seeded in her gut. She imagined the fire travelling from her stomach up her arm, and something must have been working because she suddenly felt her body getting hot; usually, it was just her hands. She felt the rush of heat travel down her arm and to her hand, settling into her palm. It felt different; it was almost uncomfortable as Prim flexed her fingers as the flames seemed to press against her skin, wanting to escape, craving Oxygen. She debated whether she should snap her fingers, but her curiosity quickly convinced her to do it; why else would Kit have given her the gloves if not to use them?

Opening her eyes, she didn't see anything obvious but could see the waves in the air from the heat above her hand. Glancing at Cedar, who still had his orbs of water, she gave him a knowing smile and then snapped her fingers. What happened next was like breaking a dam, but flames were shooting from her hand straight into the air instead of water. The whoosh had almost knocked Prim off her feet, but she didn't know what would happen if she fell or where the fire would be directed. She stared up at the fire she had produced and couldn't help the smile across her face as Cedar looked nervous beside her. He was not as comfortable around heat and fire as her, but as the heat around them grew but Prim seemed completely enamoured; it really was fun playing with fire.

Class is In session (Pups) Empty Re: Class is In session (Pups)

"I should be downwind..how do I find that?" Basil mumbles to himself as he ponders on the question. He wants to try to make the best of his abilities because it is not as powerful as being able to control fire or water. He wanted to be strong like his older siblings but he knew it would be a challenge. He then moves from Kit to the rest of the pack as he tries to find answers to his question.

Kit's joke however brought Baz back into reality with a chuckle. He always loved jokes, even if some weren't as funny as others. He sat down to listen to her speech. As she went by how we are all the same he tilted his head to the side. How could we be the same with a vast amount of differences? Yes, some powers play better in some situations, but that doesn't compare to just raw power some of these lycans have.

Then Kit went on about how to control his powers. Basil realized how worked up he is getting. Could that be the reason why his powers only last a short period of time? He shakes his head to try to get out of daydreaming and listen to what his teacher has to say.

Baz raises his arm and wonders..what does his soul look like? He remembers how he used to act when he was just a young pup. No care in the world, just a ball of joy. He wants to continue to be who he was. How could that happen though with such a burden on all of their shoulders. As he tries to imagine what his soul looks and feels like it just bounces around between various shapes and sizes. His face contorts from frustration to sadness as he cannot focus on what he was told.

"I can't.. I can't focus" he mumbled once more. He lets out a frustrated sigh. He tries once more though. Baz settled on a heart for the shape of his soul. Resembling who he was. The size also resembles him being the runt so he remembers his past. Though the color is a deep red. Showing he is determined to do his best no matter what it takes. With that his body slowly trickled to nothingness. He didn't notice this yet though due to his concentration.

Magnolia's eyes darted to Rowen as he showed up next. Maggie frowned, not wanting anyone else to feel her own anxiety and insecurities. They sucked to say the least! Biting the inside of her cheek she told herself to stay calm. She swayed her arms a bit as she tired, unsuccessfully to loosen up. Adler approached her and she nodded at him with a grateful smile. She was glad he showed up excited as ever and hoped her own confidence would show up soon. “Uh.. yeah… Carpe Diem and all that…” She tried to give her brother an appreciative smile. It was at least comforting to have him with her. Out of all of the siblings she shared a closer bond with him since he always sort of took her under his wing. Maybe not as close as the joined at the hip twins but still it was nice to have that support.

Kit soon went on talking to each sibling in turn. Maggie wasn't too sure how she felt about that. Typically she preferred to blend into the crowd and be hidden away. The attention Kit gave was rather gentle though her greeting was kind and welcome and the thought of siting down did sound inviting. Trying her best to stand tall she nodded with at least a little confidence and sat. Sitting on the sand was less ideal than the grass or under a tree but at least she didn't have to worry about her legs shaking now. Her head tilted at the mention of meditation. “I..” she squeaked out a little suddenly. “I’d like that. Thank you.” Lowering her head to look at the ground she tried to do exactly what Kit had said. Focus on her roots and let the stress flow. Inhale calm, exhale stress. It kinda worked. She couldn't fully shake the stress of the crowds and the too open space. She should have brought something to hold onto…

Kit went on joking about talking on and on in the way a lot of adults did. They gave so much information at once it was over stimulating. Magnolia firmly shook her head at the mention of a lecture. No way she’d be able to sit though one of those without feeling drained! Her inner tension was at leas a little broken with the joke. It was hard to focus on her mini mediation and Kit’s words but something did get her attention. Understanding your power so they never hurt the ones you loved. Were powers a gift? Or a burden? The inside of her cheek was staring to hurt so she let it go and bit down on the other side. Ouch! Little too hard. She could taste a bit of blood. Pressing her tongue to the wound she tired focusing on the root thing again and calmed herself.

Kit semed to value balance. Could there be balice song her familY? They were such polar opposites every one of them. No way they could really do such a ting, the scales were just tipped too much into energetic chaos. ONly half of her siblings were calm… but half would be balance? Maybe there was some sort of.. Something to that after all. Humm. She tired not to dwell on that thought for too terribly long as Kit talked about soul. She could practically feel the change in her siblings as Kit inspired them to focus. She followed suit closing her eyes and focusing inward. It took her a moment to find what she felt like a real center. At first she tried her chest but that didn't feel right. Her stomach just rendered her how long until her next meal. The souls of her feet felt more like an energy dump rather than a focus point. Finally she focused on the crown of her head. Something about it felt right and from there she tried to visualize just what her soul would look like.

Exhaling she focused hard. Her tired natural simple shapes until some sort of oblong shape reviled itself. It was brown and shiny. Oh! It cracked and out of it sprouted a thin grin string. IT was a seed, no a seedling! Rather than daging or swirling energy she felt the seedling pulse with life and grow a bit. Next she had to take the energy of that seedling and send it down her hands. Itn her mind she pictured a hair thin root going to her palm. She tired to focus on an orb of energy pulsating with life. Maggie swore she felt something, a radiating sphere of a present mass. It weighs nothing yet pushed on the world around it. Her apprehensive gave way to excitement and she looked to see… nothing. Frazzled, she sighed before inhaling deeply. On her inhale she noticed something. Roses? She smelled a pleasant rose like smell but there was nothing there. Did she conjure scent? Humm what practical use could she come up with for this? “Kit, can you-” Her words gave way to a yip of fear as the roar of flames came from Prim and engulfed them all with heat. She jumped back a little as the hair on the back of her neck stood on end. She hated fire! Her eyes looked to any that would meet her own with a plea for help. She wasn’t scared enough to take flight but if that fire got any bigger she’d be out of there no matter what lecture faced her in the future.

The raven glanced over towards the twins as they entered with their usual bundle of energy, which was a slight welcome, his glance returning to Magnolia as a soft smile would greet her, only for his attention to be snapped back towards Kit who was now directly talking to him --- At the mention of focusing, he couldn't help but glance around the room towards all the energy and emotions that was currently contained within one place.

It was hard for him to really focus when so much was going on around him constantly, often having to tear himself away to calm down, especially when it would get too much for him to handle. He let out a sigh as he would at least give this meditation thing a try, even if he new that it would be something he would badly fail at,  his eyes not closing as he watched Prim, Cedar and Magnolia start to focus. Noticing their abilities giving shape and form as he gave a gentle smile.

Rowen then closed his eyes finally, admitting defeat and giving it a try despite his  lack of faith that it would even work.

As he closed his eyes, all he could feel were the vast amount of emotions that was pouring into him from all around him from his siblings as they were focusing, feeling the mesh of excitement along with the nervousness and fear --- It was making it rather difficult for him to try to hone in on something, even anything, but he soon remembered that Kit mentioned about the drumming of a heart as he turned his attention to try and focus on the beating and sensation of his own heartbeat.

A soft sigh started to exhume from him as he started to hone in upon his heartbeat that even though it had risen along with all the emotions that was flooding into him, he could feel the consistency that was within it's theme. Feeling it's pulsating at a pace somewhat peaceful even if his siblings emotions would give it a sharp spike from their own. It was slowly but surely drowning them out to an extent that he felt like he could actually manage. Rowen who was unaware at the time that within his hands a few pink coloured orb that within a symbol of a heart surrounded by chain links could be seen, the orbs pulsating and wavering slightly as it seemed to give a shimmer of different colours.

The raven kept his eyes closed, keeping focus on the drumming of his heart beat as to not get overwhelmed by his siblings, even though the orb within his palm could be seen fluxating between the colours that were to match his siblings --- A blue for Cedar's water,  an orange for Primrose's fire, a transparent pink for Basil along with a light green for Magnolia so far. But the conentration was soon shattered and the orb that was in his had flickered multiple colours before it turned black and vanished as he could feel Magnolia's fear hit him like a tone of bricks which made him open his eyes and looked towards her.

Rowen moved over towards her slightly since he was closest and placed a gentle hand upon her before he would talk, his voice being soft and gentle since Ro actually never really spoke often --- Mostly too afraid to say what everyone was feeling and rat them out.

"Mag, it's fine, Prim'll have it under control and worst case scenario" he paused and nudged his head towards Basil and then towards Kit "Them two will be able to dwell the fire or failing that, we've got our failsafe with Ewan" Rowen would give a light chuckle, moving his free hand to rub the back of his head --- He probably wasn't the best at comforting her, but he could strongly feel what she was feeling which made him understand her. But it was often left to his stronger siblings to help with issues. Especially as he thought out of them all he was the weakest, unaware really of what he could do yet.

Class is In session (Pups) Empty Re: Class is In session (Pups)

Post by BladewolfTue 21 Feb 2023 - 20:43

The sudden flare of heat and fire caused Mags to appear to panic, she'd never been a fan of fire. Without pausing to consider any other options, Alder jumped between her and Prim, throwing up a barrier of what appeared to shadow edged with black flames, roughly 6 foot by 6 foot. He knew Prim would have everything under control, but that surge had been rather unexpected. Prim seemed transfixed by the swirling vortex of flame directly before her. He had to admit however, that fire was fascinating. After a few moments, he realized he was doing something he hadn't before, drawing the heat away from Mags and Rowen, and into himself and the swirling darkness before him. Also, how was he maintaining the darkness? At this thought something seemed to slip in his mind and the shield broke apart, quickly fading away. "I, um, how did I do that?" He said aloud, though really more to himself than anyone around.
"Ah, so there is some of the power within you young one." A voice seemed to breathe into the back of his mind, "Though, perhaps more learned control is needed? The talent exists within you." Then, just as suddenly, it was gone, but his surprise and shock were just as present.

Turning back to look at Kit, "The shape of a soul." She had said. Now that the frenzy had of the flame had been brought back under control, he looked inward and tried to focus. He felt as his own powers didnt quite line up with that, but, who knows, probably just a way of looking at things? Closing his eyes, he first felt what he was most familiar with, the swirling power of the flame. Burning hot, burning bright, wanting to grow and it would consume much around it if it got out of control. But, that wasnt all, and he knew it.

There was something else, far quieter, but, somehow, more comforting to him. Well, maybe comforting wasnt the right word, he was just as comfortable surround by flames. Where the fire was bright, bold, and warm, this, was dark without being creepy or dull, calm, and cool without actually being cold uncomfortable 'Wait,' he thought to himself, 'dark like that shield thing I made was?' The actual manifestation of that piece was new to him. Fire he knew, fire he was familiar with, both he and Prim had it, theyd gotten into a couple of scuffs throwing small embers at each other before. Their grandsire had also had it, and was very strong in it, Blaze was the sort of fire user Alder really wanted to be like.

The other side, there was really only one or two others, maybe three, that he knew of, and he wasnt directly related to any of them, that he knew of, but, magic can be weird he knew. Shadows, darkness, whatever you wanted to call it, the only ones hed heard of, were Kara, and Uncle Blade, neither of whom he had met that he could recall.

The feel of that side of him, slithered and flowed more fluidly, yes, he knew that was a bit of a dumb way of saying it, but it felt right. It slowly came together with the fire and began to swirl in his mind. He thought the darkness would either dim the fire, or the fire would washout the darkness, but, to his surprise, the opposite happened. Coming together, the shadow made the flame seem to burn more brightly, and the light of the flame seemed to make the shadow more boldly edged, deeper somehow. As he continued to think and feel the energy flowing through him, the shape began to coalesce until something seemed to fall into his hands. Opening his eyes, they went wide upon seeing what was before him. A sword, or, at least a very large knife, was in his hand. The shape of it wasnt anything overly impressive, just a basic handle with a blade attached, but the interplay of the bands of light and dark in the material captivated his attention. As he watched, they didnt only appear to swirl together, they actually did move along the outer edge.

Class is In session (Pups) Empty Re: Class is In session (Pups)

Post by Ewan And Thorn NekishuThu 23 Feb 2023 - 17:34

Ewan and Thorn navigated to the back of the group, mainly because they were the last to arrive. But also because they enjoyed having a little bit of whispered banter with one another.
Thorn was feeling pretty good about Orchid's instructions, while Ewan felt a small kindling of nerves deep down.
He would need to be on the lookout for his siblings. If any of them lost control he would have to step in. He just hoped he didn't get drowned, burned or suffocated to death in the process.

"Work together?" Thorn smirked, quirking an eyebrow as Orchid explained how they needed to centre themselves. "You ready to sprout some weeds?" he sniggered, elbowing Ewan in the ribs.
His laugh quieted, and he closed his eyes, following Orchid's instruction as he pulled power from deep within himself.

"Here we go," he smiled, feeling the ground seethed beneath his feet. Roots and small plants sprouted beneath his feet, the larger ones snaking up his body, wrapping around both legs, then torso until they coiled up his arms. Seeds uncurled into each palm, and moments later an array of wildflowers sprouted from them. Their growth was accelerated until each flower bloomed into his hold.

Ewan stood on the sideline, watching most of his siblings visually display their powers. He couldn't do that, not unless he borrowed power from one of the others. He was expected to borrow from Thorn, but that was boring. He stole Thorn's powers so often now that he felt like they were an extension of his own.

He found himself glancing at Prim as flames erupted highly from her hands, but he decided against that, not feeling like roasting to death while his older sister showed off as per usual.

He shrugged to himself, and moved away from his twin for the first time, walking in an anti-clockwise circle around the group, scanning each of them to check for cracks in their control.
Eventually, he stopped beside Kit, with an expression of mild frustration.
"I can't demonstrate anything. You can not see my power," he sighed, knowing she knew what he could do. "I don't want to syphon from them when they practice"

O R C H I D . W I N D D A N C E R
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Unbeknownst to the siblings in front of her, Kit’s own siblings were watching the group from behind her. It wasn’t often the siblings met up like this in the physical world outside of being given a body of their own element to run around in or being called at the alter. Mentally they could reach out to one another or Kit at any time for conversation but when they were all speaking to a mind at once things got a little cluttered. Now, they let their physical forms (see the bottom of Kit’s bio) haunt the land as ghost, invisible to the eye of any but an apprentice or family. Kit smiled as the family sat together looking at each wolf pup as they centered themselfs.
She could see why her family was here now, the familial relationship between such a large litter reminded them of themselves and the elements they held were a great show.

The elemental spirit were many things. Great keepers of the forces of nature, age old spirts of deep wisdom, guiding forces to any who saught them out, and sometimes, a playful and bickering family. They teased each other back and forth now, each boasting about the skills of a pup who had their strengths. Kit glanced back at them all a moment while the pups eyes were collectively closed and chuckled. Turing back to her students she tired to not let her own siblings distract her. “Some day,” Kit thought to them all. “Some day maybe if they are ready we can go to the mountain and they can get in touch with you. But that it a choice I’ll let them make themselves. Times have changed from the way my old pack did things. But it is never too late, or too early for them to reach for you.”

TAking her focus off the spirits she looked back to the pups beaming with pride as they reached their skills one way or another. First was Cedar  who made two pure orbs of water. Walking over to him, she nodded with a smile. “The calm one would have my powers. It suits him.” Torrent the water spirt chimed in. “Water seems almost in your nature Cedar. Lovely job. Rember, water is everywhere, from moisture in the air to the plants if you are ever in an emergency and you cannot conjure your own you may draw from the world around you. Also, water naturally likes to be round so if you are ever have trouble making it flow, let it return to it’s natural shape.” He she held out her own hand calling forth a ball of wind. “From there, keep in mind how water is connected deep down on a molecular level. Cohesion is what it’s called. Once a part of water starts to flow the rest flows with it.” She started moving the wind in stream like patterns. “Get the basics down and nothing will be out of your reach.”

Kit’s plan was to first move to some of the more quiet and younger pups then end up back with Prim, but that plan changed as a whoosh of heat and flame entered the training ground. “There's the heart of a wildfire! Look at her go already! So at peace with it!” Lady Fire shouted her ghostly form jumping up with excitement. Kit took a moment to survey the pups before acting. Magnolia and to a small extent Rowen  due to his empathic skills, were afraid of the fire. “Listen all of you.” Kit said getting the groups attention before centering some wind around the fire. She had the wind rush upwards taking the heat with it. She didn’t have to control all of the heat though as  Alder jumped in right away almost without thinking. She didn’t step on Prim’s toes any. She made sure not to pull oxygen away from the flames or lessen them, she only helped direct them and keep the heat away and keep any stray embers going sky high.

“This is sudden, intense, and a little scary right? Well, I won’t sugarcoat it. If our enemies ever strike again, it will be this but magnatues worse.” She looked at the tower of flame a moment before going on. “On the day that bought us to the city, the black woods burned down. A group of trees so great the sunlight never touched the forest floor. Torn down in moments by our foes.” She paused a moment walking in a circle getting to look at each there before going on. “Some day, you may have to fight our foes, enemies that want us dead. They will have powerful weapons, they will have one another and they will do whatever they can to prey on your fears. So. One day when we are all ready, we will train with each other at our fullest. This fire will be the norm and we will fight in it’s heat, in each others powers, in a battle of wild magics and elements that would make the you that you are now cry for mercy.” Kit’s eyes and tone were serious as if the flames reflected in her eys were those of the attack those 5 years ago.

“But.” Her tone changed to a softer and more encouraging one. “For now, you are all just staring out. You have my word, any burst of power like this won’t hurt any of you. This is a safe and comfortable training ground. We will all grow to master our skills, our weaknesses, our fears, together. It’s ok to be afraid, it’s ok to start small. One day, you’ll look back at this and marvel about how far you’ve come. I hope to be there with you all beaming with pride.” Once things seemed a little more settlers Kit went over to Prim. “Your power is amazing, it comes so naturally to you much like it did your grandfather. Next I’d like you to work on control. For now, see if you can’t make this the size of an average campfire. Don’t think for a moment that I want you to curb your power. It's wonderful and this is no punishment, just the next step.” She smiled in a sort of mischievous way. “Get a good handle on that and I can show you what happens when fire meets wind. Have you ever imagined a tornado of flames?”

Next she approached Baz who was clearly deep in concentration. “One that collected should seak me out.”Barion Poison said to his siblings being the first to speak on a pup who had no real elemental claim. That didn’t mean it couldn’t happen though. “Nicely done Baz. Remember to ground yourself when you need to. It helps to think of 4 things you can feel, 3 you can see, and 2 you can smell. Gives you a way to focus. Oh and speaking of on your earlier question, to stay down wind, just think of it as a hunt. You don’t want to be where your prey can sniff you out. And on that same vein, be mindful of where you walk, don’t want to snap any twigs or bother any leaf piles. You have the power that could aid a fine hunter or scout. Have you ever tried to turn something else invisible?” Kit took her little four sided dice out of her staff. She tossed it in the air and it took on it’s bladed hand fan form. Catching it she handed it to the lad. “See if you can’t imagine that same energy going along this. Let’s see what you can do!”

Next was Magnolia who elated a soft clap form Mana. She wasn’t as much of a bragger of her siblings but she was still proud there were not one but two plant users in the litter. “People who think plants are boring are so far off.” She said proudly. Kit ddin’t have to calm Magnolia too much by the time she got to her, her brothers did a fine job of that. “It’s ok to be wary of an element that is naturally an opposite. It’s a very natural fear, but remember, here it will never hurt you. We train here as a family and will only benefit one another. You can trust us to help you and we will help you to trust us. Let your love of family override any fear. And as for your skills… do I smell roses? We’ll have to explore this avenue and see what we can do with it. Perhaps you could completely mask a scent on a hunt or help hide from any out there with keen noses. I never thought plants could be manipulite in the base elements like that before. It’ll be interesting to see what else you can do.”

Next with a feeling of inner calm she went up to Rowen. “I should think I could help in such a power. Emotions can be changed by sound after all.” Brother Thunder suggested to his siblings. “You may not have noticed but before the spike of  excitement there you channeled something to represent everyone around you in turn. As an empath it’s important for you to find a way to understand the feelings of others around you so you can tell what is your own and what is others. Ture it may not be a power of combat at its base form but perhaps like Justin you can sway the moods of others if you understand them at their core. Once we can keep you protected from being overwhelmed we can experiment a little. Lovely job, there was a power you made that was beautiful to watch. Like a heart held by chains of emotions. Perhaps we can break those chains.”

“I call that one already. The power of darkness needs the kindest hearst and open minds to see what it can really do.” Dark spoke out as Kit moved over to Alder nodding in approval. “You acted fast
with that shield, mostly out of instinct! Very impressive and that loyalty is important. It was an interesting shield humm,” studying the blade in his hinds Kit nodded. “Like my wings you may be able to call and disperse that at will. Hum, the handle looks almost alive doesn’t it?”

Next were the twins, and Thorn was first of the two. “Plants are such a lovely thing. They could be as gentle as a wildflower or as dangerous as a poisonous vine. You have an arsenal of variability and it’s good to learn what options are out there. Look into different plants, their uses, their needs and you have something for just about any situation. Not to mention, massive vines can do just about anything you ask and hold back foes like the strongest of rope. You have little to no limits, just think of what you can get at your fingertips and how it can grow for you.”

Kit didn’t have to approach Ewan  as he came to her first. Her siblings went on wondering if he couldn't find a way to reach out t each of them if he borrowed power form a user.  Listening to him, she nodded. “Oh of course, I should have addressed that first. Though keep in mind what  I said about visualizing and energy flow. Now then.” Kit held a hand out beside her and there formed a small wolf made of swirling and dancing wind. After it was fully formed she severed her connection with it. It was times like this that Sister Wind could take the body as a vessel of her own. In the past Kit would have only been able to keep the wolf around a moment or so but now it was just like having a puppet next to her. One she could fix the strings to, or let them lay severed. “This is independent from me but still holds some power. Not enough to overwhelm you if you take it all in but still enough for you to train with. No tiring out your siblings this way and eventually it’ll run out.  Use it as you see fit.” She said with a kind smile.

She would let the siblings all have a bit of fun with her new advice before giving any further group instructions.

Class is In session (Pups) Empty Re: Class is In session (Pups)

Cedar held onto the orbs of water and made it look easy, mainly because it was. He came into his powers younger than his siblings, yet unlike Prim, he didn't show them off. No, he preferred to practice alone and only use his powers publically if they were needed.

Kit's approaching feet had him opening his pale eyes to look at her with a smile. She spoke of his water creation, but also of wielding it from the earth around him. He had never put thought into the process before, and he nodded, his concentration spiking as she spoke of cohesion.
"Cohesion, right? I think I know what you mean," he nodded and was about to demonstrate to her his understanding when Prim tried to steal the show.

Heat blasted all around them, and Cedar took an uncomfortable step backwards, glad to see that Alder was stepping in to protect his siblings.
"Dammit, Prim," he sighed, disliking the way the flames lapped closer to him than to the others. She knew he feared the flames, but she didn't care as long as she got the limelight.

He loved his sister, but God he hated her sometimes. He was tempted to dump a load of ice-cold water over her head but decided instead to take Kit's lesson to heart.
"Cohesion," he muttered to himself, looking at his open palms.
He concentrated on the balls of water until their shapes became unstable. They wobbled looking like they would burst any second before a line streamed from each.

He pushed the water on, stretching it across his arms, then his torso, until his entire body; all except his nose was covered in a layer of cold water, protecting him from any of Prim's messing around while Kit moved over to lift the heat into the sky.
"Try not to roast our siblings, would you?" he called across to her, his eyes darting around to check on their younger brothers and sister. "I don't think daddy dearest would forgive you for BBQing the babies."

The fire that came from Prim was more than even she could have imagined. She had only known the heat, but now she finally had access to the flames. They soared into the sky, lighting up the area around them. It was beautiful, and Prim was memorized by how the fire swirled and danced. Her sister, however, freaked out, scared of the fire. Prim chuckled, not because her sister was afraid but at how ridiculous it was. How could anyone be scared of something so incredible? Besides, Prim would never do anything to " really " hurt her siblings, not permanently, at least. The only people who seemed to get that were Rowen and Kit.

Her littlest brother had taken after their mother, often making Prim uncomfortable. She hated the idea of her mother or brother invading her mind or however it worked. But on this occasion, it seemed that he was the only one who believed that she had it under control. Even Cedar seemed to think she would roast them all purposefully. But she shrugged it off, letting them think she would burn them all alive. It just meant they were less likely to step out of line or challenge her. She didn't care if they didn't like her so long as they respected her.

However, Alders need to " protect " Maggie with... darkness? Shadow? She didn't know, but it seemed unnecessary and ironic, considering they all called her a show-off. But her eyes went to Ewan, who was watching her. She stared him down, daring to take her power from her.   She had spent her whole life trying to start a flame, even trying to borrow them from other fire sources. She may have never created a fire before today, but she had stuck her hands in enough fires to know that she didn't burn, but she was certain Ewan would if he dared to try and borrow her power.

Kit called out to her, and her siblings and Prim could feel a tunnel of wind surrounding her and the flames she had created, creating a natural chimney. Prim expected Kit to extinguish her creation but found she was just channelling the heat away from her brothers and sisters. Kit began speaking, and Prim prepared to be scolded or told what she was doing was wrong. She was ready to argue, but the fight never came. Instead Kit told them about the battle that forced them into the city. Prim was utterly enthralled as Kit promised a day they would fight in the heat of the fire and make their enemies cry for mercy. Prim was practically giddy at the prospect.

Kit approached her, and Prim braced herself for some harsh words. She would undoubtedly get them from her mother and father when they all tattled on her. But Kit did the opposite and praised her and her ability, even comparing her to her grandfather, which made her chest bloom with pride. However, Kit wanted her to smother her flames already. Prim pouted, not wanting to douse it so soon, she had just got it, and even if Kit said it wasn't a punishment, it still felt like one. Why was it her fault that her little siblings couldn't take the heat?

However, Kit gave Prim the only motivation she needed. " A fire tornado? " she asked, her eyes wide with excitement as she looked up at her flames and imagined them spinning and travelling across the land. Prim immediately began focussing on her palm as she tried to reduce the heat she was producing. It was much harder than she imagined; she had spent all this time trying to amplify to make flames, but she had never thought to reduce it. A task only made more complicated by Cedar's commentary, which he knew would push her buttons.

" Shut up, Cedar; I'm sure he'll forgive me for boiling you alive. " she barked back as she tried to concentrate. If he didn't want to be fried, he shouldn't distract her when she was trying to focus. " You look like a damn fish.. " she muttered as she tried to refocus on her palm and lessen the flames. It felt wrong, especially when all she wanted to do was let the flames free and run wild through them. But Prim fought those urges, and the fire did begin to respond, with the flames lowering. They were still bigger than a campfire, but it was enough to convince Prim that she could do it and that it was only a matter of time before she would be running with a tornado of fire around her.

Basil slowly opened his eyes as he kept concentration to see Kit giving a small speech to each of the individuals on their powers. When she got to him he tried to do what she said by focusing on multiple things.

First it was 4 things he could feel. He chose the easiest thing to start which was the wind around him. It was blowing against his back so he could try to get downwind like Kit said. Next he concentrates on the ground around him. With this maybe in the future he can use the vibrations in the ground to sense anything around him. His third thing he chooses is his own jacket. If he could know where everything on him is maybe it'll make his ability easier to use. Lastly, Basil took the gift from Kit and chose to concentrate on that. Something as simple as a fan has been turned into a weapon. With these four things his breath slows down and he starts moving to what he thinks downwind is as he thinks of the other tasks she told him to do.

Now the 3 visual items, at first he chooses his teacher. She seems to know everything about everyone's power. Though why is that? Has she seen it all? Those are questions for a later time. Secondly he picks the twigs and leaves on the ground just like Kit instructed. This was a bigger challenge though because he was trying to focus on too many things at once. So much so he just skips to the third sense.

Smelling was the easiest one due to Basil being a Lycan. He picked the strongest smell so far to start, the blazing fire prim was emanating. With her power it would help Basil mask his scent a lot easier with the flames overpowering scent. Finally, the last scent. He chose something a bit harder to make sure he can stay concentrated. He picked the sap off of the trees. It sounds easy at first though due to the massive amount of trees around them. Though with all of the other smells in the area it was much more difficult.

After focusing on all of these senses his invisible form seems to stick. Though since he missed one it doesn't seem like this form will last too long.

"I will try to get this fan to disappear in the future, I promise."

At first everything a once was so very overwhelming. In order to comfort her Rowan came over with some encouraging words and even a little bit of a joke. Maggie bit the inside of her cheek again, she knew how sensitive to emotions her brother could be so her fear probably hit him hard. Even so, he was here to try and make her feel better. It did help a little, just the act of being for her alone meant a lot. Alder was there too with some sort of wall of shadow? Getting herself as together as she could muster she stood, knees shaking.

“I.. yeah thanks you two. S.. sorry I.” Casing a nervous look at the fire she nodded trying to act as brave as she could muster. “You’re right, it’ll be fine. Thank you.” She managed a small smile but it was mostly for their sake rather than of her own comfort. Without much of a way to self sooth, she focused more on how emotions could sadden her family and smiled to make them feel better. Maybe if she tired hard enough she could fake it til she made it.

Pushing her fear down she was able to focus on Kit as she spoke about the fire. It was scary, and sudden, but she spoke like it was just a drop in the bucket compared to what their foes could do. Her memories of the day they were brought to the city were fuzzy at best. There was a jolt, fire, then they were all crowded together in too small of a space for what felt like forever. It was likely why she had no love for small dark spaces. Kit went on talking about how this was a starting place and one day they could go all out. Magnolia shook her head, not sure if she could imagine a more all out fire. What could she do to go all out though? She didn’t have the natural plant growth Thorn found so easily.

Soon Prim got the fire under control, her and Cedar were quickly bickering. Kit approached them all one by one again with some advice. Magnolia was almost sure she was in for some sort of scolding for having as much fear as she did of the fire. As Kit approached she wanted to shrink down into nothing but she held her ground. Kit’s words were kind, and thankfully understanding.

She tired to take to heart something their teacher said. ‘Let your love of family override any fear.’ R-right. Prim may have been bossy, loud and fiery but she would never ever hurt her siblings. None of them would ever really hurt each other. She loved her siblings even if she didn’t 100% get on with them all of the time. She could do this. She could stay next to her other strong siblings, and… do.. Something?

Kit mentioned her scent powers were unique, the base powers of a plant. But what could they do rally? Mag wanted to know what all she could do but the older woman gave some vague advice before moving on. She could control scent, and organize flowers. What good was that? “Come on…” She thought to herself, to her inner soul that she saw before. “Show me something.. Show me what I can do.” Holding out her hand as before she tried to call on her energy with an open mind and a guiding feeling of ‘something’. Ugh.. she was too focused, she was staring at her hand so long it started to look like the color of a white lilly. Sighing she shook her head and looked at her hand again to see… it was the color of a lilly. First the scent of a flower, now the color! White she didn’t really have much practical use for this, at the very least for now she was entertained.
